This course has really sparked my interest in new technologies. The one I want to talked about in this post is the app called Snapchat. Snapchat has been around for awhile not for sure exactly how long. It's a very popular app the main purpose of this app is to take a picture and share with friends or with a group. The big driver behind it, that makes it different from everything else is once you send the picture and somebody sees it then it disappears. I personally don't believe this. I think once you send a picture it's out there somewhere somebody has access to it if they really want it. But for all intents and purposes the person you sent it to can't see it again. That's at least my understanding. As for being a father I have two teenage daughters they're both very much into Snapchat so I have begin to pay more attention to it because of this class. So I consider myself an average tech guy. I can hook up and run a computer just fine. I can buy a new smartphone and operate it and the apps that I'm familiar with without any problems. I'm pretty good at some of the Microsoft Word Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Excel and other programs like that on a computer. But I am still surprised every day with the way technology is. 4 MI technology learning I have started using Skype on a regular basis so I can become proficient with it and write about it and the perks of it. I also have signed up for zoom which is a conference meeting type of app. I use zoom in another class that I'm taking so I'm able to become proficient with it while taking a class and I've made some suggestions at work too use it for a couple meetings with our management team spread out the way it is. As I go through our assignment  of learning a new technology. It Is amazing to me how things have changed over the last few years. It used to be that we buy something new from the store or get a new device like VCR and it would come with a large instruction manual. In the current time for the most part everything is a learn as you go system. If we get a new phone or device like that, hardly anybody reads any instructions on it. They don't look through the manual at all. That's if a manual is even provided.  Almost everything is a play with it and figure it out as you use it. I am currently trying to learn a couple different Technologies for our assignments and are emanuals for class. I'm finding out that we learn a new app or new technology incredibly fast when we just go to the use application. This seems to be a very good way of learning something but I only have one concern. Personal Learning Networks or PLN's is something someone develops to help put all learning information in one place. When I first started my PLN was overwhelming. There are some much information and so many different websites that I didn't even know where to start. I decided to what I thought was best and that was to start by researching what someone else thought a PLN was in their opinion. I read the PLN blog post provided in class. These helped considerably in my understanding of a PLN. I then did what most everyone does and I Google PLN's. I came across a couple websites that gave some great tips to developing a PLN. One of the readings in class that I paid close attention to was the Why Learning through Social Network is the Future. I studied this reading the most for a couple reasons.             As I look up different blogs and read through some of them there are a few certain things that I find to keep me interested in the Blog. The first is the topics have to be something that is an interest to me. It seems to be more of a characteristic of the reader rather than the writer. I have to search blogs that interest me and read through those topics. The main thing that caught my eye as a writer of a blog is the ideas should be a current issue. It is easy to follow social media and find out what is trending. If a blog is on a topic that is outdated or from years ago it will be harder to keep someone's attention. As I looked through blogs I found a blog called How to Geek. I was stuck on this blog reading different posts for a long time because the topics were about things that interested me and was topics happening currently.
