Technology Surprise

So I consider myself an average tech guy. I can hook up and run a computer just fine. I can buy a new smartphone and operate it and the apps that I'm familiar with without any problems. I'm pretty good at some of the Microsoft Word Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Excel and other programs like that on a computer. But I am still surprised every day with the way technology is. 4 MI technology learning I have started using Skype on a regular basis so I can become proficient with it and write about it and the perks of it. I also have signed up for zoom which is a conference meeting type of app. I use zoom in another class that I'm taking so I'm able to become proficient with it while taking a class and I've made some suggestions at work too use it for a couple meetings with our management team spread out the way it is. I am so surprised when I get on to run these applications though. To be able to set with just a simple smartphone and have a video conference with people all around the country and able to present them a PowerPoint at the same time plus see them is almost just a little mind-boggling if you step back from it and think about it. I have an individual 2000 miles away at a different facility that I can have a face-to-face conversation with over a PowerPoint presentation. That's pretty amazing! Plus to think that this advancement has really come in the last 10 years if that long. We may have a part of a younger generation eating Tide Pods but there's some out there that will continue to advance our technology beyond anything that we could ever imagine that this time. Now we may not have the flying cars and some of the Technologies that are in old movies but the technologies that we do have are just as amazing.
